Finance, Capital and Economic ReformTwo men

Our role is to ensure that public funds are managed effectively and that the public gets value for money. Finance staff monitor how much North West primary care trusts are spending and on what. They also make sure that any proposals for investing in new services or buildings are sound; and assess how best to use the NHS budget to support regeneration and development in the North West.

 

Health System Reform

Our role is to lead on the delivery of the Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) agenda to ensure alignment across SHA functions and supporting the wider system - QIPP will be at the core of all SHA work programmes. This is a new function for the SHA and will be developed further. Find out more the work carried out by Health System Reform:

Performance, Nursing and Quality

Local health services need to be more responsive to people's needs and provide high quality and timely care. Our performance, nursing and quality teams ensure local systems operate effectively and that NHS organisations continue to improve their performance. Strategic Communications

Our work supports the day-to-day running of NHS North West, as well as its strategic goal of being recognised as a world-class organisation. Our areas of responsibility cover communications, patient and public engagement, parliamentary briefing, managing relationships with other organisations and Freedom of Information requests.
 

Public Health

Our work focuses on reducing health inequalities and improving life expectancy in the region through tackling some of the major causes of ill health, such as smoking, alcohol abuse and obesity. Find out more the work carried out by Public Health:
 

Workforce and Education

The wide variety of services provided by the NHS demands a complex workforce. To meet this demand for now and for the future, we have a strategy to ensure there is an affordable and flexible workforce; to achieve a good balanced supply of trained staff; and maintain an appropriate educational infrastructure.
