In July 2010, the Government announced that additional funds had been found in-year in order to provide for an interim cancer drugs funding mechanism from October 2010.
At the end of July 2010 Sir Bruce Keogh, the NHS Medical Director, wrote to ask that these interim cancer drug funding arrangements be managed on a regional basis through Strategic Health Authorities.
