Staff profile
The SHA collects and analyses data on its workforce by gender, age, ethnicity, disability and sexual orientation.
The data has been laid out as bar charts to make it easier to see at a glance the composition of the workforce by these different characteristics.
The information in the charts is based on workforce data available at the beginning of January, 2012.
In comparison with last year in the same period the figures are relatively the same for ethnicity with 93% of employees falling into the White British category.
The ratio of female to male staff has also remained relatively similar to the previous year; and the average age of staff has also stayed relatively constant. The largest proportion of staff falls within the 46-50 year age range.
